Blue Spruce Needles (Fresh)

from $5.99

Blue spruce (picea pungens) is a beautiful pine tree that grows wild in Colorado and is known for its silvery blue tint. In Ireland, the pine stood as one of the seven tree chieftains. Like other pine trees, its needles have medicinal properties, particularly in that they are high in Vitamin A, B, C and iron. They have been used by the Native Americans to fight sickness in the winter and contain minerals, antioxidants and flavonoids which, according to studies, have anti-inflammatory, anti-viral and anti-allergy properties that make them perfect during the cold season!

Use them in honeys, syrups, cordials, teas, infusions, elixirs, bitters, tinctures, salves, home brewing, incense and more!

These needles are cut right off the trees with each order to give you the freshest product possible and gathered carefully to protect the spruce. I won’t sell more than sixteen ounces per order to ensure the health of the trees I’m harvesting from, as they should be respected. Once you receive the needles (they will be mailed priority to protect freshness), I recommend keeping them in the refrigerator or freezer, or otherwise dried for long term storage.
